English
Simple past

Consider the following examples of sentences in the past.

Example:
Weleft yesterday morning andarrived last night.
(On Monday morning we left and arrived last night.)

Example:
Therefore shewent Sheworked hard yesterday to bed early.
(She worked a lot yesterday, then went to bed early.)
The past tense is divided into two major groups: regular and
irregular. To construct the past, regular verbs are given
the ending "ed."I have the irregular shape.

The Simple Past
IYou
He
arrivedlast night. (Regular)
She
It
wentto bed late. (Irregular)
We
You
They

We can also see that, unlike the present, the past is
constant with all the pronouns and subjects. Elenão varies. By
we use "arrived", it does not vary in the third person. The same
happens to the "go " or better, "went" that's the past.
